Resedimente ; Kalke mit Glimmersand und Echinodermenfragmenten (Trümpy et al. 1997).

Furrer et al. 1985 p.30: Ferro-manganese bearing shales (Manganese Shales, 1-35 m) separate this cycle [Trupchun Beds] from a second megacycle of resediments (Mezzaun Beds, 100-350 m), which is found only in the west, in the Ela and Bernina nappe.

S.164: Die Mezzaun-Schichten entsprechen der von Schüpbach (1974) definierten Mezzaun-Formation, deren Typlokalität am nemengebenden Berg, dem Piz Mezzaun liegt. Da die Mezzaun-Formation sich lithologisch und von ihrer Stellung im Liegenden der Radiolarite mit Teilen der Allgäu-Formation vergleichen lässt, wird die Mezzaun-Formation als Member in diese eingegliedert und neu als Mezzaun-Schichten bezeichnet.
