Furrer et al. 2015 S.29: Corn-Element und Müsella-Schuppe: Das Kristallin der Müsella-Schuppe liegt über den nördlich anschliessenden Sedimenten der Mezzaun-Schuppe des Bernina-Deckenkomplexes. Zusammen mit den im Süden anschliessenden Sedimenten des Corn-Elements wurde es in der Karte von 1987 sowie von PETERS (2005 a, b), MOHN (2010) und MOHN et al. (2011) zur Languard-Decke, d. h. ins Oberostalpin gestellt. Die triassischen Sedimentabfolgen des Corn-Elements weisen jedoch eine starke Affinität zu den unterostalpinen Decken auf (FURRER 1985), was eine Zuordnung zum Unterostalpin rechtfertigt. Gemäss FROITZHEIM et al. (1994) und der Tektonischen Karte der Schweiz 1: 500 000 (BWG 2005) werden diese beiden tektonischen Einheiten dem Bernina-Deckenkomplex bzw. dem Unterostalpin zugeordnet (s. S. 81).

p.88: The Müsella Slice is composed of the Müsella basement and an overlying band of strongly tectonized Mesozoic sediments (“Corn element”, Furrer et al. 2015). According to Schmid & Froitzheim (1993) and Froitzheim et al. (1994), this slice is considered part of the Bernina Nappe Complex mainly for structural reasons. Thereby the Müsella basement is correlated with the basement of the Julier Nappe while the Mesozoic sediments are correlated with the Ela Nappe (Furrer et al. 2015) on the north-western side of the Engadine Fault. The Mesozoic sediments of the Müsella Slice are overthrust by the Upper Austroalpine Languard Nappe. However, Peters (2005) and Mohn et al. (2011) consider this slice to be part of the Upper Austroalpine Languard Nappe.
